Deck Building Questions - East Auckland
Deck prices vary a lot. A simple repair or small step can start from around $1,000. A standard treated pine deck typically runs $8,000–$15,000 installed. Larger builds, harder sites, multi-level decks, and higher-spec materials like hardwood or composite can run $40,000 or more. The only honest answer is a site visit — I'll come out, look at the job, and give you a fixed written price.
In most cases, a deck under 1.5m above ground level doesn't require consent in Auckland - but it depends on the height, the design, and your specific site. I'll let you know at quote time whether consent's likely to come into it and what that means for timing. There's no point guessing from a photo.
Most decks take 3–7 days on site depending on size and complexity. Consent adds time on the front end. I'll give you a realistic timeframe when I come to quote - not a best-case figure just to get the job.
